This is probably going to sound stupid...

When I first test drove my car, I felt the acceleration really pull me; I mean it felt strong. Now it just feels average; but more so I find that I rev to a higher rpm than I used to for the same acceleration. Three things that I can think of that cause this: 1) my exhaust system was screwed up by the body shop and makes a good amount of noise 2) my engine makes a very base whining noise, but it just sounds like the engine and it always made that noise 3) I've gained 50-60 lbs since I got the car.

Does anything stick out as to why I feel the drag? Anything I'm missing?

Thanks.

It could be something as simple as you needing a good tune up to losing engine compression (although I seriously doubt it because- bimmer engines last).

Or it could just be you getting used to the accelleration and not feeling the power anymore.

I thought about those things; just had inspection II completed; and as far as getting used to it, yeah somewhat, but I just remember this awesome feeling of acceleration and I don't really feel that in first gear anymore. Now that I think about it, 2nd is more punchy than 1st. My clutch only has 125,000 though and I've only felt it kind of slip once and I had been really, I mean REALLY, abusing the clutch. I dunno. Just wondering.
Thanks.
