This article magically bumped the I6 3.2 horsepower to 370! If only it were that easy...
SPARTANBURG, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2006--Production of the BMW Z4 Coupe and M Series Z4 Coupe began today at BMW Manufacturing Co.
The Z4 and M Coupes will be available in dealerships in early summer. As with the Z4 Roadster and X5 Sports Activity Vehicle, all Z4 and M Coupes will be built exclusively at BMW Manufacturing, the company's only U.S. manufacturing facility in Upstate South Carolina.
The coupes, which have been much anticipated by BMW enthusiasts, were unveiled earlier this year in Geneva and will be shown at the New York Auto Show later this month. The vehicles are based on the newly updated BMW Z4 Roadster that has an engine that produces 255 horsepower and promises superior agility and high performance.
At the heart of the new M Coupe is BMW's award winning 3.2-liter, in-line six-cylinder engine, which produces approximately 370 horsepower. On the road, this means 0-60 in less than five seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph. The new coupes continue the characteristic design language of BMW Roadsters. The modified front section incorporates new foglights newly standard xenon headlights featuring the four-lighted rings that have become a BMW design hallmark.
Three new exterior colors, Interlagos blue, Sepang Bronze and Imola Red, have been added to the M palette with the production of the M roadster and M coupe.
