If it's partly exposed, try using a good set of vice grips to twist it out. If that doesn't work, buy a rusted/rounded off bolt and nut remover from sears. If it's not exposed, Drill it out, use a cobalt or titanium drill bit that's slightly smaller than the hub so you don't damage the hub, then rethread the hub with a tap and die set. Though I'm not sure that's somethind I'd do to a part that holds the wheels on...

Yeah, by the time you spend all the money to buy all that stuff, you'd probably have as much money in repairing the problem than if you just replaced the hub. I don't think I'd want to re-tap the hub either.

I just think they are pressed in. If you heat it up then wrap it on it with a punch, they may come out. But this a BMW not a Nissan in which I did it to a long time ago.

If it's broken off and you can't get it out with a vise grip pliers, you can drill it out. BUT do you KNOW it was cross threaded? Perhaps it just broke?

Drill it and use an E-Z OUT type of screw extractor. If it's not cross threaded you can reuse the hub. If it is cross threaded I would probably just replace the hub.
