Canadian cars rulled the rally this year!
2 996's a 360 and a Murcielago all from Ontario, were the fastest cars there.

The German guys were hard to catch in there SL 55 AMG's, as they were driving flat out most of the way.

We had a hard time on the run this year, We had troubles starting the Nsx on the 2nd day.
It was stalling out at 100mph+, we lost a cap to the header sensors, and had to find a all night Home Depot to get a couple of brass fittings.
Then the Nsx blew a tire, so one of the chase trucks picked him up.
We couldn't get a tire anywere, so we had the Tire Rack ship us one to Denver, then we took off the rim and it was cracked.
We tried to find someone to fix it but had no luck.
So we left the Nsx in Aspen, to be picked up later.

The first day I rode in a Murcielago (sp) the 2nd day in the Nsx.
The 3rd day in Dado's 550 hp M3, the 4th day I dove a Ferrari TR through Kanasas flat out 178mph.
The 5th day in a 993TT modifed to 600 hp.
On the 6th day rode in a yellow GT3, and had some fun with a 360 stradle.
The 7th day I rode in a 360 spyder, and a Dodge Hemi wagon.

When I was driving from KC to denver we hit hail, dust storms, wicked thunder storms, high winds, and tons of tumble weeds at 150mph+.

We had a track day in Topeka, and I rode in a M3 and we chased 2 F40's around the track for ten laps.

No tickets for me this year, or jail time.

Some other problems were.
Magusta blew a tire DNF.
Yellow viper out with steering problems.
Blue Corvette blown motor DNF.
Yellow GT3 blew a tire.
SL 55 blew a tire.
350z blew a tire
General Lee needed new wheel bearings.
Testerossa needed a new battery.
Prodrive SUV concept car was impounded by police, for no plates, no ins, no sn number.
996 broke a steering linkage, then he lost his clutch, and had to power shift the rest of the way.

993 hit a bird at 150+ shattered the windshield, got a new one installed and it was too small. Then he blew the motor on the track, when he missed a shift. He shipped the car to LA and installed a new motor, so he could finish the race.

Some of my pics.

The Enzo didn't make it on the run this year, the dealer in Denver started the car when it was cold a reved it up, it bent a few valves. They had to fly in a crew from Ferrari to pull the engine and fix it.
The owner of the Enzo has a 70+ car collection, he owns the S7 that joined us in Denver. He drove it hard and fast, until it started blowing oil all over the Ferraris behind him. They had to tow it to LA for repairs. DNF
Some one in Denver was driving a 959 on the street in the rain, and stoped to talk to us.
The Vector showed up at the end of the race for 2 hours, they slapped some stickers on it like it was in the race, but it only made it four blocks before it over heated.

Next year I want Tire Rack to sponsor my car, there were 11 people who had tire's blow out. We went from cold weather to hot in a few hours, most people didn't check there psi and paid the price.

We got it bad in Kansass, the police gave us an escort out of town, then 3 hours later they were waiting for us everywhere.
8 people went to jail, most got out after paying 500 bucks.
One person spent 3 days there for avoiding the police he was going over 180+.

At one point I was in the 500+ hp BMW M3, and we were in the lead when we had to pull over to rotate our tires.
When we pulled up to the Goodyear tire, 3 guy's came out and started going crazy shouting your the guys.
They had been listing to the police scanner and heard that we had been clocked at 184mph. The police were setting up a road block 2 miles ahead for us.
Good thing we got off!

They couldn't rotate our tires because our rims were to big, so they sent us around the road block to another tire shop.
They took pics with us and the car, and made us sign autographs.
I was a rock star for a day.LOL

Day 1

Day 1
I showed up to the USS Intrepid. were we were starting the race, there were a few Canadian's there standing around waiting for there cars to show up.
There was a semi truck there that had the Eleanor and a ford mustang on it ready to go. At first glance they looked like some one had done a nice restoration job on them. But when they fired them up and backed it of the truck, you could tell they mean bossiness. They were hand built from the ground up. Big brakes, lowered, custom frame work, tuned engine, etc.
This was not my fathers Oldsmobile if you know what I mean. For 100.000 to 150.000 you can have one custom built to your own specs. The guys who built these works of art, were the coolest guys on the rally,

I was checking out the Eleanor gone in 60 second's car, when a few big.....no.....HUGE body guards brush me aside. I looked over and there was Nicholas Cage checking out the car.
They fired it up for him, he said awesome car and went back to work.
Turns out they were shooting his new movie on the same aircraft carrier that we were starting our race on.
They would not let us take pics, as he was in costume at the time. Sorry your just going to have to believe me on this one.

This year there were a few Canadian's besides me, all from Ontario, and they all brought there a game.
red 360, black 996, silver 996, yellow Mercilago.
A few of the guy's were held up at customs and missed there flight's.
We sat around waiting for the truck to show up as people started to trickle in.
Some of the cars at the start were.

4 360's Yellow, red, blue, and black.
360 spider red.
F40lm red.
F40 red
355 spider yellow.
348 spider blue.
456 grey.

308 red
2 Mercilago's green, and yellow.
Diablo yellow
Bmw M3 silver, Dado's yellow M3.
Bmw Z3
Bmw Z4
3 MB SL 55's all silver.
Nsx TT red.
General Lee.
12 Smart car's.

Day 2 the start

Day 2 the start
I was running late after getting in at 430am and all hungover, so I slapped on my costume to get in the spirit of things and garbed cab it to the pier.
When I pulled up there were about 200 people out front waiting for the start.
Don't you people have jobs?

Turns Arie Luyendyk Jr was not going to make it, so I hoped in his seat for the first leg of the rally.
In a brand new yellow Merceliago, I tried to get on the pier to join my ride but security would not let me in.
I guess they didn't like my Hanson brothers outfit,
So I stood out front to film the start in the middle of the intersection, next to one of New York finest.
The cars were tearing out of there, the crowd went nuts when the General Lee came out and hit his horns.
The yellow lambo was the last car out, he did a burn out right next to the police that were holding up traffic, then he stooped in the middle of the intersection to pick me up.
The crowd went nuts, the NYPD guy's were not to impressed.

We were the last ones through time square and got a little lost, so we made up some time with all that hp under the hood.
A half hour later we caught up to a good size pack, and slowed down a bit.
We were lading the group coming over a hill when we got nailed, 102 in a 65. Ouch.

We watched about 20+ cars pass us, as we were getting are awards for stupidity.
We thanked the officer and were on our way again, when we passed a rest stop and there were the 20+ cars with all the drivers standing there clapping and cheering us on.
We stopped and traded stories with them, and we were off again.
2 hours later we were leading the pack coming over a hill when it happened again, this time we were really moving along. We saw him hiding at the last second we jammed on the brakes, too late he pulled out behind us.
He passed everyone else and pulled us over, we stopped on the shoulder. Just then the car's idle started jumping around from running so hard, the cop thought we were going to take off so he got on the loud speaker and started yelling at us to shut down the engine.
We didn't hear him, so he came along side our car with his gun pointed at me.
The window's were tinted and rolled down 1/4 of the way, so he started yelling at us...show me your hands!
Turn off the engine! We shut it of but then we couldn't roll down the windows. That pissed the cop right off, Show me your hands NOW!!
Roll down your windows NOW!!!
We got the windows down, so he put his gun away.

What the hell is going on here?
Who gave you permission to speed on my highway?
We tried to explain to him that we were a couple of dumb cunucks travailing through, but he was not buying it.
Do you know how fast you were going?
We said we were going 140.
He just stared at us with the most puzzled look on his face.
Until we told him that are Speedo was in kilometers per hour, and we had know idea what that was in mph.
He went back to his car and checked his Speedo, and told us we should not go over 119kl that is the speed limit. Then he gave us some more awards to add to are growing collection, he chewed us out for a few minutes and told us they had towed 4 cars already and slow down.
It was good advice so we took it easy, as NY is a little to close to Canada.

Everyone was waiting at the next tool both for us, cheering and waving at us.
We stopped and waited for the rest of the cars to show up. When the Testerrosa battery went dead, everyone had started to leave so we stayed to help.
He had some cables, but we could not figure out were the battery was on our car,
So I flagged down a pick up truck and we jumped it.
We made it to the border (home) in short time, skipped across to Niagara on the lake. For a helicopter ride around the falls, and a nice dinner.
I then joined Nick in our Nix for the trip to Cleveland, the people at the toll booths warned us that the police we setting up a speed trap to catch us.
So we took it slow for the next 10 miles.
Getting back into the US was a pain for some of the drivers, one guy was delayed for 3 hours as they searched the car and ran vin numbers.
A few people stayed on the US side waiting for us to come back, because they were from other countries and didn't want to take a chance on getting back in.
The road to Cleveland was dull and boring, we avg. 120 most of the way.
We got close to Cleveland when we had some engine trouble, the cap that goes on the header came off and was shooting flames in the engine bay.
We were getting really bad gas mileage, lees than 150 per tank full it should have been 300 per.
We had to find a all night Home Depot to get a few brass fittings for the headers.
I went in to get them, and was stopped right away by security. They thought I was going to rob the place, because I still had my costume on.
They escorted me through the building then to the check out and out the door.
The car was to hot to fix so we drove to the Ritz and parked it for the night.
