I think this further clouds the Z4M question. One story has BMW saying no Z4M, yet Motor Trend says yes, and I posted supposed spy shots of the Z4M. But can they sustain 3 price points?

Z4 ~ $40 - $50K
Z4M ~ $55K - $60K
Z4 Alpina ~ $60K - $70K

If you look at the front end of the Z4 it kind of looks like an Aston Martin DB9, no joke mine’s Sterling Grey and the headlights and the overall curves involved in the hood etc. it looks like it. I have to say though I think they’re well built cars, they have to be fully loaded though other wise they aren’t worth it, what kind of engine?

The Hartge uses an M5 engine. Pretty straightforward fit apparently. Most major thing was moving the windshield wiper reservoir to the back. No big deal.

Found this today, more rumors about the Z4M and a COUPE also:

BMW Z4 M Roadster

BMW is preparing a hot M version of the Z4: this prototype snapped here has wider wheels, subtle aerodynamic enhancements and twin pairs of tailpipes, all hinting at the roadster's performance potential. It's likely to be fitted with a version of the M3's 3.2-litre straight-six engine, which delivers 343bhpin the M3, and six-speed sequential transmission. We've not seen pictures of a coupe version yet, but one is said to be in the pipeline to follow on later after the launch of the M Roadster.
