Boo! I can't stand BMW's new trend of things "trailing," eg the front and back lights on the 5 series and the kidneys on some new models. Whats with the back bumper too, with all the ridges? Is that a final change or is that just used to disguise the car

That is just a masking tape.

Ridges seem to be the "in" thing. Check out the new Acuras...TSX & TL...not to mention the Cadillacs...even the most recent Audi A4

I think it looks better because of the bigger wheels and wider fender flares - gives it better proportions. Back end is a little high, though.
