Hello all,

Just looking for some plate advice. I have an 04 M3 (E46), Imola Red. I wanted to know your preference on three choices (no pun intended)...

1) MMM

2) M PWR

3) M POWER

Thanks!

how about "ME RED", "ImolaM", "Red Bee M"
If the car is not an M model I would go with 'Red Bee M'...

Here in the United Kingdom, we can have personalised registration plates however they can only be from the selection issued by the DVLA (Government department)

The older plate's where letters and numbers the very first being A1 then A2, A3 etc.

These plates are very expensive, Later a year identifier was added so all Reg's ended with A, then a B the following year etc... when these where exhausted the identifier went to the front of of the reg. (we do not use the letters I, O, Q, U or Z)

so typical examples would be 'ULY 121M' which was on my 1974 BMW 2002.

the rule being that you cannot alter the font (13 to look like a B) or you cannot put a newer plate on an older car but you can put a older plate on new car.

My own plate is a 1994 plate 'M333 FAN' on a 1998 car.

at recent auctions in the UK the DVLA sold 'S1 NGH' for over $500,000. As that is a 1998/9 year plate that reg cannot go on any vehicle older than 8 years.

If you're gonna personalize it, don't just re-announce to everyone you're driving an M.. Likely if it's not a BMW person, they aren't going to know or care - BMW drivers already know what the //M means, so it's like stating the obvious.

I sorta get a chuckle outta all the first time sports car owners that start personalizing their tags (Just seems sorta pointless to me) Reminds me of the high school days when kids would freak when someone got a Iroc, or a new Z or something, and got it slapped on their 'tag' as well.

Prime example: Redneck I see on the road going to work all the time, has a new red Z06 - tag says 'Expensve' on the back. That tells me 3 things right off: He's driving a car he can't afford (If he thinks a Z06 is expensive), it's the nicest car he's ever owned (and likely ever will), and the fact that he drives it like an ass means he's properly flaunting his personality (which becomes clear when referenced to his tag...).

Course, even worse is the lady I've also seen near my home with a Yellow Z06, who's tag actually reads 'Z06 06'. A foot below it says in bold, red and stainless steel letters (above the mufflers) Z06.

I rest my case. [:D]
