The side windows all have it and all but one arent bad but one is scratched and torn and looks awful, but the absolute worst part is that the back window is completly purple [:0]

I would like to know if there is some method or product for getting this junk off my windows without making a mess and the cost of anything, and if any of you have expereince with this i would love some input

whoever did this to the car before they sold it must have been [screwy]

What about googone?. I use that all the time for sticky stuff, I don't see why it should work for you. In your case though theres companies that sell goo gone pens that have the liquid and allow it to apply easily but for that type of job I think a bottle would do just nicely with a towel. I'd just yank that shizle out and then apply goo gone to remove the excess sticky stuff and left over sticky stuff. But if thats not what your going for maybe steaming those things might melt the adhesive???

Never done this thing, never had too but I'd definatly give goo gone a try I love that stuff :p

If its going purple, chances are your tint is going bad. You can just peel it off with your hand and clean off any excess glue with a razor blade.

It sounds like it was a poor tinting job. That purple/blue tint is like the cheapest tint around. So if the person used cheap tint, they probably had a cheap installation job done.

As Tom suggested, grab a razorblade (or better yet, a "scraper") and just scrape the shit off. Just becareful not to scratch your glass.

I went to Autozone and they had tint remover spray. Just peel off that plastic layer. What's left should be the adhesive. Just spray it on, then wipe off w/ paper towel. Easy as pie.

Well i beleive the back window was ment to be purple becasue its really really purple, but im afraid to use a razor on the back window because I dont want to damage the defrost wires that go across the window.

As for the side ones I may just replace the one that is scrathched and all and replace it instead of messing with all of them, as much as i hate the cheap stuff it dosent look that bad compared to the purple

i suggest taking it to a professional shop, esp if you plan on redoing the tint anyway. in a respectable black, rather than purple or god forbid, the red [ohcrap].

if you are just going to go w/out any tints, then i would try other's suggestions. i'm sure there are products just for it. but once you go tint, can you really go back to a nakid window?
