I was thinking of purchasing a GPS reciever for my iPAQ and TomTom navigation software. Someone informed me they thought BMW coupe windscreens are coated and would not allow the GPS signals through. Has anyone had success or failure with this?
Its highly unlikely bmw has an alloy coat on the windscreen, so you should be alright. best thing to do is try and see. But the signal will be stopped by the roof of the car.
If there is a coating, the only thing it will hinder is EZPass. GPS signal is very strong and any coating on the windshield (or any of the windows) will not hinder the unit from obtaining a clear signal.
