i wanna get a new paint job. just wanna get an idea before i start. my car is a fainted gray color right now. i want to paint it a shiny black. how much should i look to spend ? any other tips as far as what gets painted ? let me know , thanks

I was recently in a local body shop to discuss a scratch on my passenger door (E39) and I asked how much it would be to repaint the entire car using BMW paint. He said $5,000. This is the high end place in our town.
