paint film protector

Hi, I was reading about some type of BMW paint film protector that is supposed to stop chips in the paint from stones, etc. It's supposed to last for four years. Does anyone have any experience with this product? Thanks, Midtownkoi

Yes it is made by 3M and goes on just like tape. I personally do not like it as I can see the "invisible" line where the tape ends and un[rotected paint begins. My brother used it and over the years it has hazed a bit as well. I heard that there have been some improvements with it so maybe someone will have some more recent experience.

To me, that's like those grandmothers who put plastic over the living room couches or put down those plastic runners in the hallways.

The car will get chips. Plan on getting it repainted after 7 years and get over it.
