Ok here is one that is stumping me. I have a 97 Chevrolet pickup 5.0 liter, automatic with over 150k on it. It received a full tune up less than 10k ago, new fuel filter and fuel pump three years ago, a new fuel filter three weeks ago and lately, when cold she is hard starting. Further if you accelerate, full throttle, she will studder like she is starving for fuel and the battery light on the dash will blink. If you get out of the throttle she runs fine? I have thought fuel pump again, fuel regulator, and even a voltage problem. The alternator and battery were replace three years ago and seem fine when tested. Any ideas?

How hard is it to get to the injectors in that V8? If it's not too much, you could take one out and test it.

Based on what you said, it seems more like a fuel issue. (I think could it be a timing issue/ timing belt.)

These are just educated guesses.

When you're in neutral and you're revving her up, is it clean, smooth, no shuddering?
