Newbie needs help on Aux install

Hi Guys,

Can you please help us out, i have a 2004 320d sport Touring here in the UK and have installed the Audio Aux device, i bought it from my local BMW dealer and they can't help unless i take the car in and pay £200 install fee.

So, i followed all the instructions and installed it, (Dam it was easy), however, i cant get it to display AUX when i press the mode button, the install was very straight forward, just plug it into the back of my Business Tape Player(i also have a boot cd changer)...

I have noticed everytime i plug the Harness connector into the stereo and turn it on, it quickly displays "Disabled" then normal function works.

Please help me, i'm dying to get this unit working.

Try going through the menu without it plugged in, and see if the AUX mode comes up.

Then try pluggin it back in and see if it comes up.

Actually I just got done doing the same thing. What I think your problem is that you need to completely disconnect the battery before installing the device. Disconnect your battery and completely install the device from start to finish then reconnect it. That should reset your stereo and it should read the device properly. Once you finish installing it don't unplug any components it again, otherwise you'll have to disconnect the battery again.
