We’ve heard rumors of a sub-Touareg-sized 4x4 from Volkswagen, and now we have proof. Shown in these spy photos taken at the Nürburgring in Germany is VW’s new small off-roader based on the 2005 Golf Plus (a Euro-only high-roof crossover based on the Golf).
VW is developing the sport/utility vehicle under the codename Marrakesh, but look for a CrossGolf badge or possibly Beduin when the vehicle comes to market in 2006.
