New Trans on an '04 Pre-Owned X3?

I'm thinking about purchasing a CPO '04 X3 .... I just found out that it has a disclosure - the transmission was replaced in Feb06 ..... what should I be looking out for?

FYI: It was involved in a rear-end collision in July04

Any opinions, pros/cons about buying a Bimmer with a new trans?

I'd appreciate any thoughts on the matter.

Get the picture. I am not being rude or mean, everyone I know that owns a previously wrecked Bimmer has nothing but problems. Unless you are sitting well financially Stay away!!! Buy a new one and be happy. You will be turned off by the BMW mark if you buy this. This is not opinion, these are facts. I live in the land of Bimmers and 80% of the cars that soldiers drive are older to newer model BMWs, those I know that have had a collision and had the car repaired have ALL had issues.

Tool fan is right - stay away. If it was just the transmission that's one thing but a wreck - stay away.
