I heard they weren't going to release a 4WD 911 Carrera for the 997 body. The 996 model was only released in 4WD form because it was a test of the 4WD system that was going to be used on the Cayenne. Now that there is nothing to test out, and since the 997 911 has such a better suspension setup, there is no need for a 4WD 911.

Definitely a great-looking car, though! [thumb]

Noooooooooooooooooo!!!! I liked the AWD version. They can use the Carrera 4 as a test for the Turbo which has been AWD for quite some time now.

really? 996 was the only model to have a carrera 4? the more i post, the more my lack of porsche knowledge shows.. [ohcrap]

i loooove the way 997s look. i was reading a review on it while they were slapping my snows on, and by the time i was done, i was trying to figure out how to get around 90k together in x number of years, so i can put the sexy black beast in my stable. i'm usually slow in liking a redesign, but the new update is so classic that one look made 996s look dated.
