Considering how much the rear looks like the Accord they should have called it the Hyundai Accord. [:)]
I think that was their plan all along... just like the daewoo's look like drunk-designed copies of mercedes and jag's!

LOL [rofl] Come on, if you needed a 2nd car, just something cheap as shit...what would you buy? It would rock to not have to open the hood, ever.

The Sonata is really a pretty nice car for a commuter car - I drove one and it is much improved over the previous iterations. I even thought it handled better than my dad's 2000 V6 accord.

When you get a 10 year warranty with maintainence? I would call that cheap as shit!!
Ah, yet another to be lured by the ad campiagns.

It's a 10 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty and a 5 year 60,000 mile "bumper to bumper" warranty with LOTS of exclusions. The powertrain warranty is NOT transferrable, so it dies if the original owner sells the car. As such, it ads nothing to the value of the car. The exclusions for the "bumper to bumper" warranty are as follows: Radio and sound systems are only covered for 3yr/36k, paint is covered for 3yr/36k, battery 3yrs unlimited miles with proration, A/C 1 year (!!!) unlimited miles, adjustments 1yr/12k, and wear items 1yr/12k.

The warranty isn't anywhere near as good as they make it sound on TV.

With the warranty de-hyped, $21,000 for a base V6 Hyundai doesn't sound too appealing to me.

I see nothing about maintenance in any of their warranty stuff.

Ah okay, yea that's a good point. In that case, I'd spend the extra $$ for a cheap subaru.

MSRP may be $21,000, but do you really think anyone pays anywhere close to that price?
If you're smart and ask to see the invoice price, you can pay less than MSRP. You can talk them down down between invoice and MSRP if you pressure them. They would rather make less profit than no profit.

On most cars (probably not BMWs), you should actually be able to get the car for invoice or even a little less. Dealers don't pay invoice for cars, so even if they sell it to you at invoice, they are still turning a profit.

Yup, my sister got her Tiburon for $1000 under invoice (there was a rebate). Where the dealer really shined was what they offered for her trade-in. I can't believe they gave her that much. Straight up blue book in Very Good condition. No questions asked. No look at the car. Didn't want to look. Let's just say my sis was in the market for a new car because the old one wasn't in any condition to drive her around anymore.

Well I was thinking of selling my M3 for a Santa Fe... but after your post I don't think I will. [:D] [rofl]
