Looks kinda of like a Jetta on steroids.
That'd prolly be because it IS a Jetta on steroids. Just like an Evo is a Lancer on steroids, cept you start from a slightly higher baseline and top out much higher.

Well, since it's an A4, it's really a Passat on steroids.

I have to say that the current A4 (2002-2005 B6 chassis) is one of the sexiest looking 4 door sedans around, IMO. However, I just really can't stand these new Audi massive grilles.

That is the only problem with Audi's, they are just like Jetta's!

In college my roomate had a Jetta and it was a POS!! I can't bring myself to gribs with the stigma I have with Jetta's thus Audi's don't appeal to me either... I am whack!

Have you ever driven/ridden in a new Audi? Two weeks ago, I test drove a 2004 Passat, and last weekend I test drove a 2005 Audi A4 (1.8TQ 6 speed manual). Let me tell you, they are completely different cars. Yes, they are the same chassis, but they drive completely different. The Audi feels much more solid, much more sure-footed than the Passat. The interiors do not even come close to comparison. The Passat interior felt cheap and was made out of crappy hollow-sounding hard plastic. The A4's interior is one of the best feeling, most solid interiors I've ever seen in a car, especially a $35,000 car.

When I was looking at the Passat, I also glanced at a Jetta - yes, it felt like a total piece of crap. The Passat is much nicer than the Jetta, and the A4 is leaps and bounds above the Passat even though the two are built on the same platform.

It's like comparing a Toyota Camry to a Lexus - yes, they are the same chassis, but they are oh-so-different.

big surprise: i'm not a fan of the new redesign.
so i'll wait a bit before passing judgement.
don't like that big nose, the "agressive" gills and the grill, etc.

they upped the hp count considerably for a NA engine. and unlike the subtle s4, this is all up in your face. i'll wait till i see it in person.. which just maybe never.

Yeah, the A4 and the Passat only share a chassis. There is a HUGE difference between the two cars. The A4 is a much nicer car, through and through. As for the Jetta, I think it is a really good car for the money. You get the German character, engineering, and performance, without the typical German price tag.

The only thing I don't like about VW is their obsession with FWD.
