New 3 Series

I think this car looks great, very aggressive-looking. Oh yea, and what happened with that "redesign" of the 7-Series? I remember someone posting how they would change the front or something and it looked horrible, but they haven't changed it yet... are they going to??

I think it looks cool, much better than the 5 series at least! Though I feel the grilles are a little too big.

Well,

I havent been real excited like in the old days when a new model came out....not since Bangle became the head designer. Ultimately if BMW has a sales drop there will be a change of direction...maybe the newer BMW owners like the sharp body cuts in the new 5's & 7's. Personally I kinda like the new Z4, the new 3 pic is not quite as bad as the 5's & 7's.

I seem to be one of the few bimmerphiles in the universe who really likes the new styling direction. Yes, the 7 series looks bloated, but the 5 series is much sleeker. I think its a great looking car. The Z4 is also great looking, and the pics I've seen of the next gen 3 series are even better yet. I think the styling gives a more muscular look. I think that Bangle missed the mark with the 7 series but is aware of the mistake and while staying faithful to his design direction has sharpened the focus of his vision with each successive model. Sort of like the i drive system. It was a bold idea that was overdone but is being refined and improved. I am giddy with anticipation that by the time I'm ready for my next car, it will all come together and be "totally awesome dude"

i dont' htink that picture looks too bad. because all the new designs have looked "hefty" on my computer, but the new 5 in real life is a slick ride. so hopefully that 3 in real life will be trim and fit like its predicessors.

i think the new 3 and 5 and very ugly. they messed up when they stoped making the e30s. that was the best 3.

I believe the E36 is the best 3-series, it has the best balance of performance, luxury, and reliability. However I prefer the looks of the E46.

In all fairness I dont like all the new BMW designs but that drawing isnt to bad. It looks very agressive but I still have to see the rear wich is horrandeus on the 5 and 7.

Very well said. I like the new designs too, I think the main reason why people hate them is because they look nothing like BMWs, but it's settling down. I think BMW is just feeling around and taking a risk to see what to do for their future cars. The I-Drive is a good idea in my opinion because it makes the dash look a lot less cluttered. Sure it's complicated, but all new technologies need time to develop and get better.

I personally like the new design, took me a while to get used to the E36 design when it first came out, that was a big change, the E46 was not that drastic of a change from the E36. I think we will get used to it. If I could have any of the new BMW body designs so far....the 6 series!!! I love that car, just WAY out of my price range.

But than again, if I can find a 2002Tii.....sometimes old is good also.

I think the 3 looks pretty good although its a little flat-sided like the 5 and 7 series. But it is clearly the best design of the sedans.

I love the look...

The front-end design seems to fall somewhere between the 5er & the 7 Series...

If you saw this beauty in the rear view you'd have to let it pass in order to check-out

the badging to find out what series it really was...

It doesn't look too bad

It does seem a lil 7ish, in fact I thought that was what it was when I first saw that pic. I personnaly like the look of the 7 series better then even the newer 5. Can't wait to see a real pic of the next M4
