That is a fine looking car Sean, but I know nothing about Celicas. Had a friend once who had a Celica Supra, I thnk it was, it was a really hot looking and running car.

That one will be worth $$ in the future. A 1979 (Introductory year) in that condition will go for probably 2-3 times the BIN.

I would love to have that in my garage... if I had the $$, I probably would have bought it, to be honest with you guys. ...But one day, hopefully.

Iv'e never seen one of those before... granted I was 2 years old when it was built, but still. That thing is in really great shape! Pretty ugly looking, but I can see why you guys would like it, I guess it would be kinda sporty. Upon some brief research (google), there have been 7 generations of Celica's!! I thought the 4th generation was the first one!! Learn something every day!

My first car was a 70 Celica... Black, good paint, bad clutch. I loved that car. Had a top speed of 88 MPH, downhill with the sail up and the wind against its back.

It's actually pretty quick. The Supra had a straight 6 which could put out 115hp and 126 torque...and while that isn't much, it could go 0-60 in 8.6 seconds. Not so bad considering the era.

I had a 'beater' one (1979) that I bought for parts many years ago. It had +300k miles on it and it still ran pretty strong. I (very irresponsibly) took off the governor (back then it wasn't electronically governed) and got it up to about 120mph. Very unsafe at that speed in a +20 year old car. But it had grunt.

Wow. Never would I even think a 1981 Celica was beautiful, but you just have to appreciate the condition of that car. Honestly, I have friends and family with 2007 model year cars, and this 1981 is in better condition.

I would love to speak with the owner, and ask them how it stayed so clean. Seals, rubber, wipers, interior...it really looks brand new. Amazing!
