What do you guys think????????? Should I buy this? 2004 Imola Red M3 ,Manual ,19 OEM's, Nav AND 5400 Miles....FOR 41,995. I am seriously considering it. The only "hold up" is that it is manual, and i drive ALOT on the autobahn which means alot of time in Stau's (traffic jams). But being able to soundly smoke just about anybody I choose to race is SOOOOOOO tempting.

Yes you should Mike. That thing is hot!

I commuted (Bay Area, CA traffic) for over a year in my M3 and believe me its not that bad.

If i could buy a M3 and the only draw back is it's an auto.....traffic or no traffic, let me ask you this, why would you want an automatic M3 to begin with [:D] Seriously, driving a manual is not that bad, especially if it in an M3, this makes it a little easier to deal with. So I would definatly buy it.

Dude, that's an excellent price. And definitely, don't be shy about the manual. I went back and forth when I was getting my car whether to get auto or manual. With an M though, I think it totally tips the balance to the stick. Plus, my auto transmission is going on me now....i'm so pissed....i'm at 125,000 and the GM transmission is decomposing. If it was a stick, I would just be replacing the clutch about now....not a $4,500 box of manure. Uggggghhhh, i'm so upset I can hardly talk about it.

I don't really want and Automatic....but the SMG would make life easier. When I had my Benz and I got stuck for HOURS on the Autobahn in traffic, man my legs were killing me in no time flat.

Secondly...I have to sell my 530i first. If it goes then I will buy the M3. I have it listed on this site USMilitaryMart.com under sedans as number 4115. You guys should check it out and tell me what you think.

tool fan, if you get stuck in a lot of traffic, then maybe the SMG is a good alternative. SMG is good because it offers better performance AND it's easier to live with. It literally makes manual pointless unless you love to truly row your own gears (which makes up for most of the manual tranny population including myself).
Last year when I was at Adelphi University and had my G, going home and back (like for the week-ends or sometimes during mid-week) was a pain in my ass thanks to all the GWB traffic, but I must say that I don't think the manual transmission made it too much worse. After you deal with the traffic for a little bit, you get used to manual in traffic. And the cool thing is that if the road is flat and traffic isn't moving, you can be even more lazy than the auto drivers and not have to step on any pedals to keep the car still!!
