I waited yesterday as the plastic was removed from a new ’05 PT Cruiser. As I waited I was thinking that I would have a reasonably good day driving a brand new and different car. When I returned the car I did so with only 54 miles on the car and actually changed some of my plans to avoid driving what I have concluded as a very inferior car that falls short of even the most basic of entry-level vehicles produced by Toyota, Honda, and even Kia.
Handling:
Much like “The Price is Right”-spin that big wheel.
Only slightly more comforting at 80 MPH that being pulled on a skateboard at 80 MPH.
At 90-100+ MPH- be my guest if you wish but I wouldn’t try it.
Acceleration:
Bahahahahahahahahahaha........
Fairly smooth shifting.
Fit and Style:
Controls are ideal for those of you that buy shirts with 60” sleeve length.
Seats suck, as do armrests.
Popular style that drove sales initially is probably a love-it or hate-it and not much in between.
Storage in back is decent but may not be much more than a small car if actually measured below the rear seat in square feet.
My favorite thing about the car:
The tach that goes to 8,000 but redlines at 6,000. A bit like having an invisible wing on back.
Why my review could be flawed:
I drive a BMW.
It’s largely for fun but the basic feelings about the car are nonetheless true of my opinion.
I don’t know a lot about this box on a Neon base.
I may have had higher expectation because I often see the PT racing around town.
