Motor Trend: BMW "Exx" designation going away

Motor Trend is claiming that it is the end of the Exx numbering scheme. The new 2009 7 Series will start the Fxx designation and will be the F01. The next 5er is going to be the F10.

Guess what? Not that it's a big deal, but BMW already has an F designation for a product line - Motorcycles.

I'm hoping that the 09 7er will finally be able to knock the S-Class off the soapbox-that being the use of F01 for a name.
