The moonroof in my E39 530 stopped going up yesterday. It still opens and closes normally but when I push the button for the back end to go up, it makes the usual sounds but does not go up. I can push it up but it won't stay up. I usually like to drive with it up all the time and find it makes the interior cooler. It is 108 today here.
Is this something that can be fixed easily by me or should I take it in? I only ask because the nearest BMW dealer is a couple of hours away. Still under warranty of course.
