Have I completely lost it…or are mods completely out of control?

Check out this car... http://www.eurotuner.com/featuredvehicles/160_0405_bmw328/ ...is that not the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen?

I mean, I enjoyed Fast and Furious...2 Fast 2 Furious was tolerable...now they are on to film 3. Aren't people over it yet or do they really want to drive around like in that movie all the time?

And to do that with a BMW?!?!

What do you guys think? Am I out of step with what is 'in' or is it over?

haha, not to jack your thread, but when i read the title i was expecting to see quotes of like vlad and manuel freaking out on some poor n00b for no reason, or something really weird, hahahaaha

but yeah, mods are out of control, i guess its cool that people are able to do what they want, but what we all have to realize is that a lot of people have really poor taste....

I guess that I must be missing something. [???1] But why would someone do that? I think these people only care about show and "looking fast" otherwise I would think a 330 or an older M3 would be a better choice with some NICE upgrades.

Is there anything there to enhance performance?

Well your not missing commom sense or good taste, unless of course your planning on modifying your 330i to look like that, then in that case we would need to talk.

Some exterior mods look ok, but call me crazy, I really like the look of the unmodified stock BMWs, be it a 3, 5 or 7 series, etc. The lines are simple and classic and refined. Why mess with that, unless you really want to be different.

Just last night I was looking at the 98 E39 as the sun was setting and I realized the profile of that car (all stock) is incredible! I wouldn't change a thing even if I had the mechanical skills to do so. [hihi]

what would you guys do if you had to rice your ride?

i tink i'd replace my gas lid with an lcd, so when i pop it out to refuel i could catch the game. i'd also replace my the lights behind my gauges with color changing LEDs, and i'd put supre strong blue cathodes inbetween the pipes in my headers, and i'd make a clear intake and fill it up with led's so peole can see the before and after product. i'd replace my o2 sensors with led's, and my shift knob with a giant chop stick. also, within the back window i'd have a custom window where the heat wires were wired into a pattern that said "The Man" but the wire would be black light sensitive, and i'd replace my third tail light with a black light, so every time i hit the brakes "The Man" would pop up.

lol i thought the same exact thing.

As for the car, I have to say that the mods were actualy tastefuly done. While ya its alot, he manages to still make it look like luxury and not rice. I like it. I do however dont care for that hood and the whole dual spoiler thing dont look that good either. Frankly though why mess with the perfection of a stock BMW.

It's not too too bad. The hood is too much, but everything else isn't as bad as what I see on most ricer cars. I mean, it's not like the trunk spoiler is as high as the roof. The sound system is a lot, but not really any more than what you see rappers and the like stick in the back of their SUVs.
