Imagine how high the insurance rates are going to be once the Insurance companies get hit with this...

Looks like BMW has adopted "plastic-car" characteristics from Lexus, and the insurance companies will bank on it.

The special tools BMW is referring to is actually just a "frame machine" to ensure the parts are properly put together and the training is "BMW certification". You should not use any repair shop from the yellowpages for BMW repairwork anyway, so it works out fine.

Hey, you guys remember when I got rear ended? Minor damage to the bumber, MAJOR damage to the insurance. Over 13k euros to replace the bumper. Ok it not as simple as I make it sound, there are some really interesting things that go into the BMW bumpers, but still it is a bumper for crissakes.
