For the 2004 model year, MB will replacing the supercharged V6 C32 AMG with the new C55 AMG.

The "55" stands for the new 5.5 liter V8 naturally-aspirated engine that produces 367 hp! That's pretty good for the little C-Class model line.

It will have an AMG tuned sports tuned suspension and five-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel gearshift buttons and AMG SPEEDSHIFT.

Visually on the exterior, the new C 55 AMG is distinguishable from the other models in the C-Class by its new front-end design, with elliptical twin headlamps and a longer front-end structure to hold the V8. There are also AMG designed side skirts, rear trunk lid, and front and rear bumpers. AMG sports seats with Alcantara upholstery and an instrument cluster with silver-coloured dials are further special features of the new C 55 AMG.

New 18-inch light-alloy wheels give the C55 much needed extra grip on the road. The tires are staggered in sizes 225/40 (front) and 245/35(rear).

No word on prices, but expected to be in the mid $50,000's to $60,000's since this C has an AMG V8 now.

Yeah, and Mercedes is changing the CL55, SL55, and S55 to CL65, SL65, and S65. They will produce 638hp and 700-something torque. Mercedes is great at building cars that can really move, but they are not really fun to drive as they focus more on luxury than performance.

6.5l engine will produce 612hp and 730 ft-lb torque.

Too little, too late. Audi came out with the V8 in the little sedan concept first. And it comes with all wheel drive. Plus, too expensive.

Supercharge that baby to 400+ hp and we can start talking again.

this talk somehow sounds funny. we discuss about cars with power that is beyond our believes somehow and give comments like "supercharge it and we can talk"....no offense, but 360 would already blow my mind [hihi] [hihi]

did anybody alredy see the new interiour of the c-class? the old one looked so crappy and i heard there will be a change.
