Mazda Speed 6

Currently slated to be a 280hp AWD 2.3L Direct Injection Turbocharged 4cyl. The Mazdaspeed 6 will be a rival for the likes of the Subaru WRX/Sti, the Lancer Evo, and at the same time it will attempt to reel in more upscale competitors despite it's racier edge. Suspension guaranteed to be best in class.

What do you guys think? Will this be a hit?

nice car but already 20Bhp short on the STI Prodrive, and 50 on the new FQ330 evo VIII. but still a very nice car and a good effort. i love the rear.

bah, i'll believe it when i see it. i do like the design of the mazda 6's out there, but compared to the STi i don't think it does much for me. the STi stands so strong, it just looks like it would rip any car to pieces (certainly does most cars). we'll have to see how much this mazda weigh, and so on.

Looks real nice, but after having my Jetta, I am hesitant to invest in another 4-cylinder engine.

The sound of a 6 cyl is much nicer than most 4 cyl. engines.. esp inline and HO6

I think the Mazda design is better than the STi or Evo. The "Fly up & away" wings on the STi and Evo really turn me off...looks cheap, poor taste.

yeah but then again its 300bhp 300lbft of torque, and a wicked AWD system.

Besides performance and handling, Design is important in a car to me, I wouldn't buy a STi or Evo if they produce 500hp!

I love the way the EVO and the STi look. The STi looks very muscular and the EVO looks like a "don't mess with me" sports car.

yeah, to me both of those cars are big dawgs. both of them scream "i'm cheaper and will kick your ass in a straight line and through the chicanes" it will be interesting to see if a car with a lot less rally pedigree can hang.

I think these pocket rockets are great cars. I don't like the ridulous wings but I think they only come on the super souped up versions, and I don't like turbo's. But I guess my thinking is old because everybody seems to be going the turbo route. Too bad, it seems like a shortcut, when a properly designed high performance engine should be the goal
