Mazda will have the Mazda5, a small five-seat minivan, this summer in the United States. What do you think?

The 2006 MAZDA5 is an unprecedented multifaceted vehicle that combines the dimensions, ease of use and value of a compact, and the sophistication, refinement, and features of a premium import, with the ability to offer seating for six or a wide variety of passenger/cargo combinations.

I think the exterior is awful, but as with all Mazdas, the interior looks great. It of course does not have the "luxury" of German and British autos...but looks organized, sporty and high quality.

In a couple of shots, this van looks like a big Mercedes A Class. No?

I cannot believe you would even compare the new mercedes (R class) to the above mazda minivan...

It looks pretty sporty. But sport and mini-van....hard for them to go together. It's not really a mini-van if it doesn't have five seats, either. I wonder if it will sell....for something that seats 5 with a hatch-back kind of trunk, there are much better alternatives.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the second picture shows three rows of seats....looks like a 2+2+2 setup??

In any case, I am just looking forward to the new Mazda MX-M5 Miata!!!!!!!!

Yuck. I don't think I've ever seen a Mazda I liked the looks of.

I don't like this trend of these mini minivans, either. I guess it's better than regular minivans in that they're smalled rather than bigger, like the trend seems to be these days, but they're all so ugly. [8]

Honestly, I really like it. It looks like a car that would be in Europe, and I think that is a step in the right direction for the US (having more Europe based cars I mean). Yes, it's ugly, but it's ugly in a hip European way.

Yuck, I really tired of the "van" designs. How about the Scion or the Honda Element.......argh help! [V]
Actually I like to call it the Honda Box because it just looks like a box. "Hi I'm interested in the Honda Box, how much is it monthly for a Box?" "Yes, I'd like to buy a Box...please gift-wrap it...no, no box necessary, it is one!!" [fake]

I hate these 4-door hatch-type cars, but I really dig the new Audi A3!!

How am I degrading German marques? Didn't I say it did not rival German or British marques? I just thought this new Mazda looks kind of Mercedes like...see for yourself. Take it easy!!!!

I have driven German marques exclusively for many, many years...and no plans on changing.

WOW........another Minivan (noted undertones of sarcasm) I thought the Sport Utes had all but killed the minivan era....especially the Bimmer, Lexus, Infinity and Mercs. Don't see to many Minivans over here. Yes they exist but not to many "new" ones.
