Just make sure the contact surfaces are spotlessly clean before putting them on (ie the car and the back of the sign).
Then be sure to remove them whenever you wash your car so that you don't get a buildup of crap around the sign.
My Dad had these on his ute for 10 years, and the only downside was being a yellow ute, the rest of the paint faded and the bit under the sign was still like new. oh and the fact that once every so often one blows off and you lose it.
