I hate it when that happens!!

I can't imagine being the tech who did that - think about the sinking feeling he had as he pulled off the front wheel, the front end starts rising, and the car slides backwards off the jack. I'd be hanging off the front bumper trying to weight it down!!!

It will be interesting to see if it gets totaled. GREAT FIND DAN!!!

Man, that's a kick in the nuts. Reminds me why I do my own work on my cars, except bringing rims in to have new rubber put on them, but I do the install myself.... I don't trust punks working on my car... especailly putting a 4point lift underneath. I've never seen or heard of that happening to a car before... and to a Lotus is a shame.

Seems the rear engine minus one front tire did that little car in....

It would suck to be the Tech. Then again it would suck to be the owner as well. Ahh, the little curves life throws at you.... [confused]

Ouch (but I have to admit that I HATE the Elise). I see a lot of them driving around L.A., and they look really plasticky and cheap.

This actually happened to our friend's awesome 1989 635csi (HOT car). It was during the 1994 Northridge, CA quake. "Luckily" it was at an authorised BMW dealer being serviced when it fell off the lift, and they repaired it. It never felt the same though, and it had to be eventually sold for almost nothing!

i love the elise, they are engineering marvels. looks like insurance totalled that guys car, which is good, cause i couldn't drive it after that. i would constantly be thinking too much about little things in the car and if a road noise was from the fall.

I love the Elise too. But unfortunately it is too small for me - or I am too tall for it! I sat in one this summer, if you are taller than 5'-11" or 6', there is just not enough leg room to operate the clutch.

yeah i sat in one when they first came out and was surprised how small the cockpit was. at 6'1" it was pretty damn snug, i could live with it though.
