I was confused at first as well because I always thought this stuff was supposed to blue. But then Eric told me the standard color for this stuff is actually green...I guess I've been around German cars for too long. But then again my Japanese car uses the blue-colored version of what this fluid is...I guess blue > green. [:p]

Indeed, its quite a horrific scene when you find a glowing green spot under your car.. =/
I think it's hilarious! If you don't laugh I don't think you understand why it's funny [hihi]

Has nothing to do with a leak [:D] If hydrolock and a seized motor is funny to you, this pic should be funny x2.

Technically, where that coolant is draining from would not result in hydrolock. Hydrolock results from a liquid being sucked into the intake - since liquids aren't compressible, it causes major problems when the pistons try to compress it.

Seizing, yes - hydrolock, no.

Well...maybe if it had really bad seals - but it would still happen though, coolant would go past the seals easier than oil wouldn't it?

Militant-Grunt...thats not a leak. Look where the antifreeze is coming out of!! It's not where it SHOULD Be coming from!!!!

I knew a guy that changed the oil on his brand new Mazda 626 for the first time. He dropped out 6 quarts, the manual said put in 6 quarts and he did. He didn't bother looking at the dipstick he just thought 6 would do.

Well he drove the car about 50 miles and was on the interstate when everything jammed up on him and his car totally died.

Come to find out he drained the transmission fluid instead of the engine oil then added 6 quarts on top of the 6 already in the engine. Bad news all around.

I don't think he was very mechanically inclined.

And this is why car manufacturers try very hard to make sure people don't work on their own cars.

That's stupid. If i decide to buy a used e90 in 5 years I won't take it to the stupid dealer for $100+/hour labor, when i can do shit myself.
