I just got a 2004 Z4 3.0 loaner while my 2002 330Ci gets its first scheduled maintenence.

All I can say is WOW !

What a pocket rocket.

Its an automatic and with traction control off I was able to smoke up an entire parking lot.

This thing would run circles around my 330Ci.

The exhaust sound is great too !

How does this loaner situation work?
I have maintenece scheduled in a couple of weeks and I'm getting a loaner.
Do you just ask whats available and then say "I'll take the M3"??hehehe[fake] [fake]

Cabra this is an issue that has been bothering me...

Next to the passenger seat on the center console there should be a little black button/light that says "Passenger Airbag." Is this a button, or just a light??

Donmbmw-

I have noticed I get a loaner more often if:

1) they are not all taken already

2) If my repair is an overnighter

3) If you speak up early and ask

My dealer is very good about shuttle service also, which in my case is still nice since I have other vehicles to drive.

I have never once had to find a ride on my own. [thumb]

Dinan55, I sat in the Z4 at a BMW showroom once and it is just a light. I felt the little "button" myself and it is just an indicator...nothing you can "push" or "flip".

The airbag button was bugging me too.
Turns out its just a light
Im not sure how to turn it on and off.

When its time for you loaner, theyll have tons to choose from

Just tell the service man you want a Z4 or ask what else they have to offer.

Then go enjoy !

The loaner depends on the dealership. Some dealerships have a lot of loaners to offer, and some don't. It depends on how much business the service department gets...some dealerships even rent car from Hertz and Avis if/when they are out of BMW loaners. [:o]

If I had $125,000 to spend on a roadster, I would get a SL55 AMG. The Z8 is terribly overpriced, especially since the average fool would mistake it for a Z3/Z4.

I would buy a Cobra convert and bank the rest of the money. But if I wanted to blow the money.......911 convert[;)]

i think the light comes on when you have bmw approved child seat in place. esp since it's a two seater, the passenger air bag need to be turned off for the baby seat to properly protect the baby.

it prolly also works as a warning light for the passenger like guessgirl suggest.. like if the car hit something right now, your head is going straight for the dash!! [;)]
