I just got the January Motor Trend in the mail today. Lots of nice cars! They had good things to say about the new 6 series and its fantastic performance. They said “It’s a glorious car, one that excels for high-speed straightaway and winding through the canyons. It makes us wonder what they have in mind for the M version.” (Motor Trend, January 2004, page 42)

The 5 series lost out on car of the year to the Toyota Prius. They also said the 5 series has a “design that is perplexing” and “doesn’t rock us like the last one” (Motor Trend, January 2004, page 72).

It looks like GM has some problems, and in my interpretation they are falling way behind everyone else. Too bad, I like the Colorado a lot, enough that I was sold on getting one, buy it looks like GM has too many plastic issues. Too bad, I think it would have been a perfect truck for my needs.

"It's a done deal on the ZHP..."

[wave] Bryan330i

I'm picking up my 330i on Monday, Dec. 29th...

You're still safe, I got the Gray. [;)]

I'll have the Alcantara interior w/the Silver Cube trim, which I think will contrast

the black interior nicely. My guy at D. said the Silver Gray was the 3 series most

popular color, and not the Imola Red.

The only other things I'm getting done is 1) Tinting and 2) Euro lights from Bekker, if

they have them for the '04 model year.

And oh, by the way... thanks for the Motor Trend info. I don't want to be

Paddy, post some pics when you get the car. And don't worry, you're not going to feel "common" in your gray 330i (Performance Package, right?)...I think no matter what color you say, salesmen will always tell you "That is the most popular color" or something along those lines. [;)]
Bryan, I think the new 6-series looks great. It should be well worth its price and a new BMW that will satisfy everyone's taste. The new 5-series looks nice, but is the opposite of sporty. [:(]

I'll post them pic's...

[wave]

As soon as I get home I'm going to pick up a new Cannon 'Power Shot SD10.'

I'll get some photos from Boulder Dam & around the Vegas area, with the car ~ of course...

Mr'E': What brand wax/polish as you using? Let me guess! Zaino? [^]

I was really impressed with your ride and how meticulous you keep it. [thumb]

I've always been that way... For the most part I've had new Ford F-150, sport trucks.

I'm now starting to get into the Euro. (BMW) thing and wish I done so years ago...

As you can see, my ZHP will be the second Bimmer in 10 months in my garage. The wife

is [driving2] the 325i...

Keep up the good work & 'Happy Motoring'

Hey Paddy [wave]

Congratulations on the new car. [thumb] Glad they could get you what you wanted.

I went to the Motor Trend auto show today, it was the worst auto show I have ever been to. No BMW's, no MB's, only 1 exotic model, and 2 Bentley and 1 RR. No Ferrari's and not even Subaru was there. [8] It was about 25% GM, some Accords, 4-5 Audi's, and Ford only had base models, the Expedition was as plain and base as you can get. No question, the worst auto show I have ever seen. [:(]

Most popular color

Mr'E'

When I said that the 'Silver Gray' was the most popular color, what I meant was

my dealer said that while computer searching my car he found more 'Grays'

w/the ZHP option than 'Imola Red' or 'Mystic Blue.' I, personally, would of thought

the 'Imola' would of been the most popular ZHP color out there...

I was planning on [driving2] to the LA Auto Show, the first week of January...

Where was the Motor Trend Auto Show held???
It was at the Las Vegas convension center. I guess BMW, BM, Volvo, Range Rover, Subaru, and a number of others do not participate in the Las Vegas show. But they do go to most others in LA, DC and other cities.

Saw a picture of the 6 cabrio taken from a distance thru a fence on thecarfanatics.com. Someone was saying something about an openable (is that a word?) back window that also doubles as a wind screen with the top down. It also sounds like the M6 coupe/cabrio aren't far behind. If anyone has any info on when the 645 cabrio will be out, I'd appreciate it. I think that's gonna be my next car--it's gonna be sticker shock for the wife.[hihi]

actually silver/ silver gray or whatever varient was the most popular color for last year. i really liked the color, but every one and their mother has silver, or black bimmers, so that deterred me away. (i'd say 90% of the bimmers i've seen are black or silver, am i wrong on this?)

and imola won't be the most popular 3 serie color, since it's only available on the zhp packages and m3s.

but congrats, at least you'll even out the 330i zhp color spectrum, as imola is still the running leader in this forum right? [headbang]
