hey all~

i just purchased 1999 bmw 528i, and i've noticed that it came with the older version of key which doesn't look that cool.

i was wondering if i can switch over my old dugie looking key to the new version key, which has the bmw mark on the center?

please advise~
thanks

i dont think so, but if anyone knows it will be ur bmw center.
also i think that the new keys have a different kind of uhh what do u call it -- keyness? or the metal thing that sticks into the ignition, thats slighty different on the newest keys

my key buttons include "un/lock" "garage door open" "trunk"
it's rectangular shape in black color.

i would love to upgrade mine to the newer version where they have the bmw logo in the center.

thanks!

Sounds like an aftermarket key, maybe something that came with the previouse owner's security system. An OEM cut would probably run you upwards of $75 at your dealer. They're proud of those things... [;)]
