is this a good deal?

so tell me how does this deal look like.. '99 328i, 57K miles, automatic, silver exterior, grey interior, sports package, single CD player, cruise control, alloy wheels, power seats, heated seats, power moonroof, traction control.

The tires have 25K miles on them, pretty worn out. There is a minor scratch and a minor dent. The interior is not all that great but not all that bad either. One problem with the gear indicator. It points to neutral when in reverse, points to neutral while in drive.

This for $15K. What do you guys think?

15 sounds about right possibly a little high. You can probably haggle him down some. Does he have all records of matinence?

the current owner bought the car as a CPO and the initial owner had leased the car. This current guy has some maintenance record.

the car still has about a year's CPO warranty on it.

does it make it any more attractive deal? or it doesn't matter a whole lot?

Sounds cheap to me. and Dont forget to run carfax and if you can have the dealer check the vin for any suspicious activity. IE excesive warranty issues around the front of the car.

as i had mentioned, there is this problem with the gear indicator. It points to neutral when in reverse, points to neutral while in drive. Is this a minor cosmetic issue or a major issue? I'm going to get the car insepected tomorrow anyways.

went to a local mechanic today and he thoroughly inspected the car.. his verdict.. the car has been roughed up.. is in bad shape.

well, i lost $125 for geting it inspected but well i saved myself from the trouble of driving and maintaining a roughed up car.

Thats why you always have a mechanic look at a car. Luckaly my grandfather used to be a mechanic so he can check out any cars for me for free.
