Stick some US Dollars in a Swiss Bank account now, and leave it there, when you get there, conduct the transaction all in Euro.
Please elaborate on what you mean...........the dollar SUCKS vs. the euro right now.....I HATE IT. My house payment is 2700 euro a month in dollars that is 3591.00 US ..........now is a shitty time to pay euro for ANYTHING.

Yes but it isn't getting any better, in fact its going to get much worse before it gets better, so your better off taking a lump some of money (USD) "whether it be a loan or what ever", take it and dump it into a European bank and convert that Dollar into Euro at the bank, that way you'll accrue interest and you pay for your European items in it’s own currency rather than being hammered on the exchange rate every time.

Oh to answer your question BMW-FW26, BMW’s are cheaper in Germany because most of the models are basic there, but if you want you can get a fully loaded, which ends up being pretty much the same – but still cheaper than it’s NA counter-part.

I hate to keep questioning where your getting your information from, but who ever told you that is full of doodoo. We can use my 530i for example. I paid 43,500 for my 530i almost fully loaded (roughly 10k less than sticker) so real price in US by BMW NA is about 53k give or take. Now the same 530i with the same options on the german economy is 62k euro which is 82,460 US.....that is about 30k MORE expensive. A 645 fully loaded is 98k euro (just looked at one today) which is 130+k. M3's cost any where from 60 to 82k euro...get what I am getting at? BMW's are substantially more expensive if you are German or buy one on the German economy. Not trying to be an ass, just check your figures[thumb]

Hate to tell you this, but it is only more expensive here.

I bought a 2005 330ci about 1 month ago. While I was waiting for delivery I went to a German BMW dealer and he gave me a price list.

A stock 330ci with NO options starts at 37,000 EUROS!!! And you can't forget the 16% sales tax!!!

You plan on getting a German driver's lisence? I know that Germans are required to take driver's training courses. It adds up!! My wife (who is German) paid about $1500.00 for her driver's lisence. Don't forget Insurance!! My insurance here is about double of what it would be in the States. I compared to what I pay now to what I'll expect to pay in Newport, RI. (I am moving to Newport this coming summer) Rhode Island isn't exactly the cheapest place to be for insurance.

Now, I'm in the military, so I did get it cheaper here. BMW has a military sales program. No sales tax, no import tax, delivery fee is $260 USD and there's a $5000 discount off the MSRP base price (before options).

Best option? Find a military guy stationed in germany. Have him buy it and sell it to you. Only twist is that by LAW he must keep the car for 4 months before selling or he'll be stuck with ALL taxes and fees.
