I have a 1993 318i and I love it! The problem is this, I'm going through rotors on the front every 3 months!!! It is warping the drivers side for some reason!!! Any suggestions and please don't tell me to go see the dealer! I'm on my own here. Thanks.

It's possible the calliper is sticking. To check, jack up front of car and see if each front wheel spins freely. Also, what type of pads are you using?
In my experience with brakes (I've always done my own), the metalic pads are very tough on rotors.
What type rotors are you using?

I always try to stay with oem stuff even though it costs a bit more.

It really sounds like your calliper is sticking though.

Good luck.

I agree that it sounds like a sticking caliper OR piston.

-Are you doing the work yourself?
-If so, when you compress the piston to make room for the new, thicker pads and rotor does it retract smoothly?
-Is the rubber boot nicked or torn?
-Did you clean the caliper sliding surfaces before reassembly?
-Are you using a thin film of high temp brake lube on the caliper sliding surfaces?

Kirby mentioned something I totally overlooked: Caliper Piston

It's possible to mess up the piston/caliper when you're trying to compress the piston into the caliper. You have to make sure you're pressing the piston in squarly or you could end up with this problem.

Nice catch Kirby. [thumb]
