on 7th ave facing south, i was out to get a pizza and i look up in mirror to see a car nose diving and coming it me, but at that point it was about 2 feet away. got hit, not super hard, maybe at 15mph? i called 911 to get an officer out there immediately and then got out of my car. i told this girl to pull off to the side street (where i was waiting to turn left initially) so we would be out of traffic and could talk.

we pull off and she is sort of waiting by my window as i am still on the phone with the police giving a description of what happened and who was involved. i get out and she says "can you just take down my number or something" and i say, don't worry the police will be here really soon. she says "oh man, that sucks" as if she was disappointed she got in the accident, nothing more.

i say "let me go grab my insurance." and i get in my car and start going through my glovebox, i look up about 20 seconds later to see if the cop was here yet, and in the distance i see her car rounding a corner. i yell to my girlfriend to call 911 again, and i immediately stall my car (i was in 3rd for some reason). i finally get going with ample wheel spin and take chase. by this time she is sort of gone. i round the corner and start flying through neighborhoods looking for her with my girlfriend on the phone with the police. but didn't even have a visual.

just as i was about to give up and turn right onto a street, i see kitty corner to my right, a car that is the same make/model/color. i wait, hoping she didn't see me. the car turned out, and i saw that it too (i didn't mention this before) had a right rear tail light that was showing white light. i took chase, finally with something TO chase. the car was a mid 90s ford contour. read the license plate to the 911 operators. i put my brights on and my hazards on (wishing i had sirens) she tried to take off, but in case you guys don't remember, i waxed my car, so it was extra fast. she honestly tried to shake me by driving through weird areas, and through a back alley that was a rutted dirt road, i was too ready to nab her to care about what i drove my car over.

finally they pull into a driveway, i pull behind to block in case they try to back out. my girlfriend starts yelling that the 911 operator/cops are telling me not to pursue the person on foot and to just drive a short distance away. both people in the car split and ran different ways. i was more than ready to make a citizens arrest or do something, but was strictly told not to.

so i wait and see if the car tries to leave, but they don't, and was told police were on the way to the house, so i go back to the spot of original accident to meet with another officer. all my info gets filed, and i hear on the radio that officers are ready to make contact. the people didn't live at the house they stopped at, and the cops were too effing slow to get the girl, i thought i heard that they talked to the passenger, but not sure.

got filed as a hit and run, and the police towed the car. now i just have to hope that this sack of crap thinks her contour is worth keeping, or they somehow get her information otherwise.

not much damage on my car. her car took a dive, and the front bumped and license plate connected below my bumper, leaving a quarter size hole in my lower bumper and a huge deep scratch across the bottom. i'll get some pics up, and i'll post the police report when it comes out.

this girls days are numbered, i'm ready for a witch hunt (and to put my car on ebay) [V]

ouuuch!!! what the f**k was she thinking?

and dude, you know you´ve been putting yourself in danger, do you? but what do i say, i had a similar thing in 2003. it was on the exit of krogar market when a car in front of me wanted to exit the lot into traffic, got scared of something i don´t understand and backed up. needless to say that honking didn´t stop him to hit my car. also needless to say, he drove off leaving me on the lot. i took off, too and followed him through traffic into his neighborhood. i finally got him and our company lawyer took care of the rest.

i hope you get that stupid chick!!! good luck man!

the reason i took chase was more to get the plate number, which i didn't have. but mid chase i was in it for the hunt, even once i got the plates. i was so sad when i stalled my car and didn't get a visual when i rounded the corner, but holy crap was i excited when i found her again [mad]

What a fool - a small insurance claim, or cash out of her pocket to fix your car, turns into Hit & Run. Either she was really stupid, or had something to hide that made it worth running.

I hope she gets roped in and they take her license away (if she has one!)

for how solid of a hit it was this is extremely light damage. my neck is a little jacked up though.

the two things on the right that are circled are puncture's that go essentially all the way through.

its still damaged............when I got rear ended, the cost was $700.00 for deep scratches......that's still a lot in my book......ALSO I REPEAT.......never ever get the person's information without a police report on the spot.........the driver and I exchanged information since it was in a bad area and relatively minor.....of course in the weeks to come he states I backed into him and it became a he said, she said....with no report at time and location of accident (I filed one the next day), his insurance company did not pay and my insurance company would not get involved since it was below the deductible.......I had to pay for a guy who rear ended me at a red light......

I'm sorry about your car,,,,,but I am glad you and your girlfriend are okay.

Man, what a pain. At least she found the brake pedal, even if it was too late. Sounds like she's driving with no insurance.... but you'd think she offer to pay cash for the repairs.

Glad you two are okay.
