Huper Optik Tint, Percent?

Hello fellow car nuts...

I have one quick question. I made an appointment for my E46 M3 this afternoon to get the windows tinted Monday morning. The guy said they have Huper Optik tint in 30,40, and 50 percent. 50 percent is out so should I go with 30 or 40? He said he likes 40 and 30 is illegal. However, I really like the look of Tom's car and it's 30. How many of you out there have had probs with getting pulled over b/c of tint and which should I choose?

Jim, I've taken my car back to CA many times with the tint and have not been pulled over. The good part about Huper Optiks is the bronze look. Even at 30% is still does not look too dark.

Not too bronze though right? That doesn't seem like it would be a good idea for a red car. Thanks for the responses guys.
