How much to upgrade...

Hey all, new to the forum, just wanting some opinions on this idea:

How much to get a HP upgrade for my 2003 540?

I know there are varying degrees of upgrade but if anyone has any knowledge of it and what the best bang for the buck is, i'd appreciate the info.

Are you looking for performace updrages as your second paragraph suggests? Consider a performance chip/ECU upgrade in combination with a CAI. Unless you want to send a lot of money you are not going to see much hp difference than your stock 286 hp.

Yes i'd like to get some extra omph out of my car but really dont want to spend a fortune on it. Ive been looking into the Dinan chips and have found out they do not void the warranty on the car, so they are of interest to me.

The local dealer told me I would not only see the HP raise, my fuel efficiency would be better (that was surprising) and the rev limiter could be taken off [clap]
