Honda’s flagship NSX-R sports car gets a race car treatment and a price tag to match. Due to the considerable changes to this year’s Japanese an Grand Touring Championship GT-500 NSX race car, Honda had to build five homologation NSX-R GT road cars to satisfy rules set by the governing body.

A cool ¥50 million ($466,600) is the price tag for this full carbon fiber-bodied road car, which features longer front and rear fascias and an F1-style scoop to direct air to the mid-mounted V6 engine. Production starts in August and, sorry, all five cars are already spoken for.

You people shouldn’t scoff at Honda. They are very very good vehicles. Just because they were once known as cheap commuters I don't think this tag still applies. They can build cars with the best of them....

P.S. I like, but I would never spend that kind of cash for it...

I don't think they are good vehicles, a company that hides factory recalls by calling them "service bulletins" that are shrugged off as something nobody needs to do or says "hey if they come in for the problem fix it or if they don't try to get them to pay and if they don't give it to them free and tell them its on us because were so awsome!" hah!

In any case it deserves its rights and dues and the car has been said its a great thing and alot of magazines like it, hell even JC liked it and so did Senna so I guess it has its rights to be hailed as good car, just not for me!

Cash is hugely expensive for it as well, I think they would sell more if they were cheaper, I really think so, they would sell like hotcakes and finally put an end to Civics all over the streets lol

Oh come on now BMW has done this as well. Remember the "Profile Gasket" issue, and the "Throttle Control Cable" recall that BMW ignored? Just go to AllData.com and look at all the "TSB's" issued by BMW (and everyone else) that should be recalls.

Although I agree I do not want one of them Hondas either, as if I could afford one...haha

No kidding and don't for get the grand daddy of them all; the rod bearing "Service Bulletin". If that wasn't/should have been a recall nothing should be.....

A production rice rocket?

I agree that Honda's are good cars in general. But a half million dollars for a Honda? Way too much. You'd think they would have called it an Acura if they're trying to go for an upscale market. It's kind of like the VW Phaeton--who cares how nice it's supposed to be, it's too much to pay for a VW.

Read my post again. My statement had nothing to do with the price they are asking for that car. I am talking about the all the Honda bashing going on.

And yes Honda can build cars with the best in the world. The only reason people don't give them credit is because of a stigmatism that has stuck to the name. That is the main reason they came out with Acura in America etc...

Again, if Honda can create a car made out of carbon fiber and all the high-end technologies (from F1 racing same as BMW) why couldn’t they ask the price all the German/Italian car companies ask.? Carbon fiber is carbon fiber and Honda’s technologies are some of the best in the world. Just because Honda created a car that is just as modern as the high-end supercars does not mean they cannot ask for the going market for cars of that type. People just have a problem with seeing world class supercar prices on a car with a Honda emblem on it.

I agree BMW has done it as well but the Asian imports hide it more than the Europeans, thus why everyone complaints about BEnz and BMW these days, but everyone hails to Honda's reliability, but I don't care I didn't mean to sound bashing [:(]
