I was wondering if someone could give me some advice, because at this point I can see me flipping out on someone tomorrow. I paid for the extended warranty and maintenance and I specifically asked if there was a co-pay. The service guy told me no. And I asked more than once. That same day I took my car in for service. The next day when it was ready they called and told me the car was ready, etc, I had to pay a co-pay. After explaining, etc he talked to the sales guy and he said no, I told him he doesn't have one. moving along. took the car in for an oil change today (at 7500 miles, knowing I would pay for it). I had a few other things that had to be fixed. Again, they told me I had to pay a co-pay. I talked to the head of service and he said I do have to pay a co-pay. I know the guy pretty well from before he got promoted. Anyways, he basically said I wouldn't have to pay this time but hinted that this would be the last time. So how do I argue against this when the told me no, I dont have to pay, but now they are saying its in the contract and I do?

Would appreciate any advice.

Do you still have the contract/form you signed when you got the extended plans? Surely it says very clearly in there that the owner is or is not responsible for a co-pay... If you don't have something in writing to back you up, I don't see you having much of a leg to stand on unfortunately.

yeah I read it roughly because it was long and I was rushing, plus I felt like I was being rushed. I asked that specific question and was speficially told, no there is no co-pay. I aactually sked that question probably 4 different times because I heard about this happening before. guess I am screwed, but tomorrow, I will be speaking with the person who told me one thing but sold me another. And if I have to I will go further. I understand signing the contract but when that is just some shiesty shit to do, especially when I asked that specific question.

I agree, it is a BS thing to do, but unfortunately it happens all the time, from the salesman who promisies bluetooth capability in your car and you later find out it is not possible, to the idiot who sells these extended warranties. They work on commission like every other salesperson and will usually either be just unaware of the details or will tell you what you want to hear to make the sale. Best of luck tomorrow, and if you do have the paperwork, read through it, maybe it help you out...

The Original Owner Protection Program - $50.00 Co-Pay

This only applies to the extended warranty not the Extended Maintenance Policy. There is no co-pay for scheduled maintenance.

thanks, too bad he told me neither one had a co-pay and re-confirmed it last time they tried to tell me it did.

to my surprise the employee admitted he made a mistake and told me that and they are going to honor it. I always received great service from them, but didn't get the feeling last night things would actually go my way when it counted. But I do wonder what happens if I goto a different dealership (if it will be noted in the system)..
