Mark, eBay is not a good place to do price checking. As I recall you payed book value for your car, sure you may find a cheaper one, but what is it's condition and location? I have observed a few cars similar to mine selling at prices lower than I would expect, but I usually figure they are not pristine as mine? And in some cases you will find cars selling for more than you paid, but that is a good thing!

This car is in exactly the same condition as mine, it may even have less marks on it. It has 10k extra miles, thats the only difference I can see. I emailed the dealer and he said there is no flood or crash damage history.

It's over 10k cheaper than my car and most others. Just shocking to see it priced that way after having just paid an arm and a leg for mine. [confused]

I have noticed this about cars on Ebay:

I bought my car off of ebay for $800 under trade-in value. I was puzzled by the price, I further puzzled because it was from a dealer. And when I asked him he explained it to me. He said that the car was a trade in, and that to get the car into condition that the dealer is required in order to sell it(In order to issue tags) would cost the dealer $3,000, and if they were to invest that much into the car, it wouldn't yeild any profit. Moreover, usually they would just auction the car off to a dealer's auction, but that costs more than putting it up on ebay, therefore they sell it on ebay and put the reserve at the minimum profit margin that they have to yield or what the going rate would be to a dealer, and usually it ends up being less than trade-in value. Essentially, they are using ebay to sell it at dealer auction prices without incurring the costs of a dealer auction. Of course the trade off is you must do your own state inspection and whatever is necessary to secure tags & registration.
My family has bought several cars off ebay and each one has been an absolute gem. Of course, you must be very scrutinizing when you buy it, and never buy it sight unscene.

Yes ive sold a car on ebay before and am no stranger to the potential savings, its just this particular car takes it to the extreme with upwards of 10 grand in savings!

I even checked ebay when I bought mine, there was only one listed and it was 4k more!

How do you guys not know about the many scammers on eBay?
3 recent positive feedback JUST from cars. You ARE allowed to contact the old buyers, and since you will probably not hand over money until you pick up the car anyways...

I'd still be worry. Scammers often work in groups to leave positive feedback from each other. With only 3, I'd definitely be worried.
Well, of course i would never buy a car off ebay w/out test driving it first. But yea, i know how the scammers work.
