Handling issue-snows rear, michelins front

My car doesn't handle well over 70MPH. I'm blaming it on the "cheapie" snows on the rear, mixed with stock Michelins in the front.
All other suspension parts seem fine, just replaced idler arm.
Thought tire pressure might be the problem. Am running 29 fr, 30 r - Temp. is cold (36degrees) most of my driving is on highway (2/3rds)
Any ideas, thoughts?
I miss the way she was with 4 equal tires! (although ball joint was some concern!)
Thanks

Mixing tires like this is bad juju dude. Don't mess with tires. Its the link between you and the road. It's not just a matter of handling. We're talking safety here. Spend the money and get four decent matching tires.

Thanks guys, pretty much what I was thinking-different flex and rubber compounds.
Doesn't handle the way it used to !! You wouldn't believe it over 70MPH !! Feels like a windy day, or being buffeted by a tractor trailer truck.
I was just wondering.
Thanks for the support,
Mel

You really should buy your tires in sets of 4, not sets of 2. If you insist on buying only two new snow tires, they belong on the back of the car, not the front. (Incidentally, that is true even with a FWD car).

As for pressure, use the BMW factory spec pressure, which should be in your manual and on the driver's side door jamb.
