I think that happens everywhere. We had one a few years ago cause a really bad wreck by driving the wrong way on an on-ramp. There comes a time when people need to stop driving.

I wonder if that guy was driving with his turn signal flashing too.

Yes it does, I cannot count the number of times officers where I worked stopped cars going the wrong way and/or investigated accidents for the same reason. In my humble experience it was rarely the "elderly" and more often than not the intoxicated!

Well that figures. I guess I'll have to post a count of drunk drivers I call in while driving to work at 4am every other saturday/sunday.

It prolly depends on the area. When I was in Burbank, CA, I saw an incredible amount of the elderly. I didn't realize it was such a retirement area since so much media is there. But, aside from the idiot drivers that come in all stripes (basically, the too aggressive), the elderly did have a proportionately high part of the near accidents I witnessed. Personally, I saw at least 4 incidents of a person driving on the wrong side of the street. All were the elderly.

In other areas, where the elderly weren't as pervasive, I'm sure drunks caused most of the real bad problems.
