Front end vibration at 50

Hello all,

I just got a 2004 A6 4.2 for my wife and am having problems with a front end vibration at 50 mph. It has the sport suspension, 18" RS6 wheels with 255/40/18 Pilot sport A/S and 5mm H&R spacers. I have had the wheels balanced, 4 wheel alignment performed, and tires rotated, and the problem still exists. The car only has 600 miles on it, and the problem was present after picking it up from the dealer to have the CD player fixed.

I assumed it was just a balance, tire out of round, or alignment issue, but now I am concerned that possible suspension damage could have accured while at the dealer.

I am bringing it back to the dealer tomorrow to see what they have to say about the matter.

Thanks for your input and advice.

How bad is the vibration? I'm pretty sure the problem is in the age itself. The tires need 1,000 miles to officially break in...before that time, they don't stick to the road as well as they are supposed to and they will cause vibrations at high speeds. When we first got our ML500, it acted this way at speeds over 50mph...it is a noticeable and annoying vibration, but after break-in, everything was fine. Wait until like 1,200-1,500 miles to see if the problem persists...if it does, then you have a more serious problem on your hands (could be the suspension, in which case the tires will wear down after like 3,000 miles).
