Perhaps an aftermarket sub-woofer? I HIGHLY doubt a BMW would end up hurting itself, no matter what the mileage. In fact, I'm willing to bet it was due to some kind of aftermarket sub-woofer setup. In any case, does this crack affect the car's performance or its operation in any way??

In the first photo there are pieces of plastic lying about. Something broke or was broken in the car. I suspect human error. I have about 12 friends who all own M Coupes and they have zero problems and no cracks.

My friend and my neighbor both own M coupes. While they've had their problems, they've had nothing like that. The problems they've told me about are either common among BMWs or just from a lemon sold by a crappy dealer.

It's a not-so-common thing on some Z3's, M Coupes, whatever. Something about the underbody cracking and the entire differential ripping out, the case that I've posted above is the worst case I've seen yet. It's just kind of a scary thing to think of, I wouldn't be too happy if I was driving down the highway and all of a sudden my wheels passed me.

its most def NOT from a subwoofer.
the guy on roadflea said that the dealer covered
it for him at 60k miles so just take the car u want
to buy to a dealer before u pay for it
get an inspection done
