Free Maintenance gone. Not on BMW's though.

Looks like automakers are getting away from free maintenance programs on new cars. All luxury cars and domestic cars are giving up the program, except BMW and Lexus.

Good for us, even though they will only change our oil every 15,000 miles. I figured it was only a matter of time before this program went away (on other brands, MB was the first to quit the program). BMW's are safe for 2006 but who knows after that.

They are selling more cars, they don't need it. (That's how they see it)

Well didn't they say Lexus (Toyota) and BMW were the only two profitable automakers as of late... That explains why they're keeping the free maintenance then, they can afford it and enjoy the incentive it adds.
