The Ford GT is the only american car I have a passion for, and serious desire to one day drive or own if I can ever be so lucky..

The GT could be a production car if Ford could tap into the right market for it. The car is just so damn gorgeous.. And as far as things go, inexpensive for what you get.

I gotta agree with daniel.

Section 8 what do you mean 'could' be a production car? They could never make that an affordable car, if thats what you mean.

So why didn't they race the GT against that white STI that was supposedly beating 1000cc Gixxer's?

I love the GT, such a hot car. Too bad he probably went through a tank of gas on those runs.

I mean the high end of affordable (As in, runs of them like ferrari's each year, etc, but in a higher capacity than they currently build it). The car only goes for about $150k-$250k depending on the modest packages offered. For what you get, that's a splendid price. And it certainly owns the track, short of other 'supercars' it's going to be fun times.

Hell Enzo's go for what, about a mil brand spanking new, I'd rather have a GT and know I can buy 2 more if I total it versus a darn Enzo..

Course that's in my own fantasy world where I win that 345 mil lotto that's still floating around, and I build my own track in my back yard.. [drinking]

The STI didn't beat the 1000CC, the bike let off the throttle and the race was basically over but the STI kept on pulling and according to obvious physics, eventually passed the bike that was slowing down.

the GT is an amazing car, performance wise, but there are drawbacks. Those of you that are Topgear fans should read about Jeremy Clarckson's experience of owning a GT...you'll find that he wasn't very pleased.

His complaint was ONLY over the security system which also had ignition lockout. More than likely, that is a dealership installed option and they were just unfaimliar with the car. If you remember correctly he changed his mind and still owns it...

This is true, which, in my opinion is really not that big of a deal but you would think that for a car at that price you would not have that kind of a problem. Then again, we are human and jeremy likes to exaggerate.

A car of that price? The most expensive car you can buy that won't give you stupid problems is a porsche, and the larger mercs and bmw's. You ever hear about all the problems lamborghini's have? It's definitely more than the Ford GT will ever have...
